Omnibar
Omnibar means everything at your fingertips. The Omnibar can:
- be used for typical address bar or for typical web search capability
- invoke an LLM with
super + enterfor any query or prompt - be used as a shortcut to Kaba embedded functionality, and soon other things like your own hotkey builder
Unlike other browsers, Kaba’s location bar is not bolted to the top of your screen. It appears when you summon it, does what you asked, and gives the space back.
| Open it with | |
|---|---|
Ctrl+Space | Show the omnibar |
Ctrl/Cmd+L | Open the address bar on the current page’s URL |
| The omnibar icon | In the Kaba bar |
[todo: add screenshot of the omnibar open and of parts the input, suggestion list, slash-command palette, example prompts.]
What you can type
Section titled “What you can type”| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| A URL or host name | Go there. A bare host is tried over HTTPS first. |
| Words | Search with your default search engine. |
| Part of a title or address | Matching history, open frames and saved frames appear as suggestions. |
/ | The command palette. Keep typing to filter. |
? followed by text | Ask Kaba: opens a project with your text ready to send. |
: followed by a task | Hands the task to Kaba to carry out, with progress in a toast. Needs Enable AI. |
How you press Enter matters:
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
Enter | Go, search, or run the command. |
super + enter | Invoke an LLM (which is controlled by policy) for a toast / overlay prompt. If what you typed is a URL, it just goes there. |
Shift+Enter | Ask Kaba: opens a project with your text in the composer. Nothing is sent until you send it. |
Tab | Complete a command. |
Up / Down | Move through suggestions. |
Esc | Dismiss. Clicking anywhere outside does the same. |
For a query of a few words, the suggestions also offer an Ask Kaba about this row.
While the omnibar is open it keeps keyboard focus, so a page loading in the background cannot steal your typing.
[todo: add screenshot of a super + enter answer and of parts the toast, the answer, the follow-up prompt.]

Where the page opens
Section titled “Where the page opens”The omnibar acts on the active pane. To open something beside what you have, split first (tiling windows) or open a new frame with Ctrl/Cmd+T, then type.
In a Ghost pane
Section titled “In a Ghost pane”When the active pane is in Ghost Mode the omnibar says so: Ghost Mode — this stays private. Pages you open there are not added to your history.
